The Scrum Master is responsible for partnering with stakeholders from the business and across IT to scope and define requirements for various technical projects utilizing an agile development process. The Scrum Master will plan and facilitate scrum activities, including scrum of scrums, sprint planning, daily stand up, demos, board reviews, and retrospectives. The Scrum Master will provide guidance and help remove impediments while working as a liaison between development teams and product management helping to ensure work is completed efficiently and on-time.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates Product Backlog with key stakeholders for prioritization as well as milestone and sprint updates within the team and with various stakeholders
  • Gathers, analyzes, and validates system requirements from business users
  • Work with stakeholders to document business requirements and system specifications
  • Complete screen "mockups"
  • Run Development Projects, initiative, and work items following industry leading Agile/Scrum best practices including coordination and facilitation of all Agile ceremonies.
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings with a team to ensure projects are on track
  • Coordinate with Developers to ensure solutions are understood
  • Develop and coordinate test plans with Development Quality Test Analysts, Stakeholders, and designated End Users prior to system rollouts
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams
  • Coordinate end user training and manual updates for clients
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Able to work with external clients and internal users to develop detailed, clearly written functional specifications for software development and for enhancement of existing software
  • Proven time management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced ability/experience with Excel
  • Able to appropriately communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately convey messages and influence others
  • Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities required
  • Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, project management or Information Technology/Computer Science preferred; the equivalent amount of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Scrum Master certification highly preferred

Experience

  • Previous experience as a member of a software development team preferred
  • Prior experience as a Scrum Master, Business Analyst or IT Project Manager preferred
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Experience writing functional requirements and specifications for software development projects preferred

  • Compensation: $66,800 to $83,500 annualized depending upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon the office or meeting location.

Physical Demands and Activities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to remain stationary. The employee is frequently required to move about the office, operate a computer and other office machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; rarely position self to maintain files; rarely moves boxes weighing up to 10 lbs. Close and distance observation required with ability to observe objects at close range in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Must possess the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and have the ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders.
