FTE 0Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours 0Work Shift Day: 8 hoursJob Description Current BLS certification required Current CA RN license requiredThe Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse, who, as a result of graduate education and in-depth clinical experience possesses the advanced knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide expert nursing care. The major functions of the CNS/NP include education, consultation, clinical practice and research, and leadership. The primary responsibility is the direct application of clinical expertise to patients/families and patient care staff. The CNS/NP will plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate Behavioral Health care services. The Behavioral Health CNS/NP coordinates activities for the Behavioral Health Services and the Medical Center: * Facilitating admissions between Behavioral Health Services and the Medical Center * Consultation to the Medical Center regarding psychiatric issues and substance abuse * Ongoing staff education and support * Quality management as it relates to the position The CNS/NP leads and directs the diagnosis-based teams in the care and service of Behavioral Health patients across the continuum. Promotes effective and appropriate utilization of clinical, ancillary and material resources. Assumes a leadership role with the interdisciplinary team to define and achieve optimal clinical and resource outcomes, assures Behavioral Health patients receive care that consistently follows evidence-based standards, and is in accordance with organizational goals including; disease-specific care measures, regulatory standards as defined by the program. Qualifications 1. Masters' degree in Nursing required with a specialty in Mental Health or Psychiatry preferred. 2. Must have at least 24 months clinical nursing experience in area of specialty. 3. Knowledge of utilization review, discharge planning, clinical pathways, managed care and "Best Practice Guidelines" preferred. 4. Experience in developing educational programs related to health promotion, health maintenance, and disease prevention and possesses knowledge of adult education/teaching principles. 5. Prior CNS, NP or nursing education experience preferred. 6. Demonstrated ability to produce results and coordinate projects. License/Certification/Registration Requirements 1. Current California RN license. 2. California certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric and Mental Health or California licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Psych and Mental Health. 3. National certification through ANCC or via national credentialing association as appropriate to specialty is preferred. 4. Current BLS certification 5. Certification in Nonviolent Crisis intervention Training or equivalent certification. Salary Range: $105.68 - $142.64 USD HourlyThe Physical Requirements and Working Conditions of this job are available.
