Position Summary:
Create, present, and execute interior designs for room environments for Advertising and PR purposes. Contribute to the overall style direction projected by the Style department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design interiors for specific advertising projects including print, web and social media.
- Select upholstery, case goods, fabrics, paints, wallpaper, and accessories for each project.
- Design window treatments, custom bedding, and pillows to achieve the desired look for the project.
- Create interior design to help communicate story ideas with advertising and merchandising departments.
- Submit floorplans and set specifications to production department at the Photo Studio (primarily located offsite in New Milford, CT).
- Collaborate on set with photographer to determine camera angles and capture all required imagery.
- Contribute to any projects requiring design expertise.
- Research current and future fashion and color trends design ideas, and presentation techniques. Attend industry events and continuing education classes.
- Design interiors for TV commercials.
- Create and fully design interiors, working with digital partners that will translate them into CGI (Computer-generated imagery).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in interior design or similar concentration with a minimum of five (5) years relevant design or stylist experience.
- Knowledge of furniture styles, decorating styles, periods, and trends is essential.
- Knowledge of drapery treatments, accessories, wall treatment techniques and styling of soft goods is desirable.
- Must have experience styling for photography/film.
- Creative ability with excellent attention to detail skills necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills are necessary.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Working knowledge of CAD, Photoshop, or InDesign a plus.
