This is the third level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role job classification. Engineering Technologist III provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with limited supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence. This position is for a Power Quality & Reliability Engineering Technologist III that will support Henderson and Roxboro Operation Centers.

* Provides deep technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise,
* Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities,
* Independently prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches,
* Conducts engineering and related studies,
* Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance,
* Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities,
* Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills,
* Maintains accurate records and files,
* Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
* Outage follow up
* Familiar with AMI GO, PI, CYME, Power BI Reports, Igrid Visual, GE Dora etc.
* Responsible for enhancing the dependability and maintainability of equipment, systems, and processes.
* Proactively identifying and addressing potential risks that could result in failures or downtime.
* Analyzing performance data, developing targeted strategies, and implementing effective solutions
* Improves overall reliability while reducing operational costs
* Storm duty support is mandatory and may occur on weekends, holidays, and other significant dates

Key Skills and Experience

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a strong technical competency and the ability to design overhead and underground single-phase orders. The candidate should be familiar with overhead and underground three phase designs. The candidate should be familiar with tools such as SEDS, Design Lite/BOUD, Pole Foreman, Maximo, and PingIt. Candidates should also possess working knowledge of the Requirements for Electric Service and Meter Installation and the Engineering Resource Manual.

Either 3+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 5+ years of relevant experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 9+ years equivalent relevant experience without a degree.

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Experience in the utility industry.

• Able to effectively apply basic principles of project management.

Working Conditions

• This role involves regular work in outdoor environments, including walking across uneven terrain and navigating wooded areas. Candidates should be comfortable working in variable field conditions and physically capable of extended periods of walking.

Specific Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
