Description
The HR Benefits Specialist position assists with and supports the administration of all benefit programs, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, COBRA, life insurance, and short-and long-term disability insurance. The Specialist additionally assists with worker compensation and leave administration as needed. Duties include:
- Assist in managing processes for benefits enrollment, changes, and cancellations for employees and their dependents
- Performs administration clerical duties in support of selecting and maintaining corporate health and welfare benefits (prepares correspondence for mail, email, document scans, filing, research, presentation development, meeting schedules/invites/set-up, etc.).
- Maintains databases, runs reports to support benefit administration and leave management (health and welfare billing, and reconciliation processes; wellness program administration; arrears invoicing, collections, and reconciliation; ACA; Open Enrollment; COBRA; leave reporting).
- Provides benefit, leave, and worker compensation customer service to all employees and management within ATSG entities (answers questions, supports problem resolution, contacts vendors, etc.).
- Performs and/or supports benefit open enrollment setup and processing in the HCM system
- Performs and/or supports ACA tracking, administration, reconciliation, and reporting in the HCM system
- Performs and/or supports health and welfare events (wellness fairs, onsite dental, vaccination, mammography, blood drive, employee educational/promotional events, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in relevant field and 3 years benefit support experience, or equivalent combination of education and benefits support experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local governing laws and regulations regarding health and welfare benefits (ERISA, HIPPA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA).
- Proficient Microsoft Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Self-motivated, ability to use independent judgment to suggest solutions and handle unusual situations in a professional manner
- Ability to support sensitive information and processes confidentially.
- Ability to learn and support worker compensation and leave administration duties.
- Experience with UKG or comparable HCM (Oracle/Ceridian/SAP/Workday, etc.).
- Zoom/Teams/other video conferencing/chat programs
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with leave of absence processes including working with TPAs for disability benefits
- Some benefits analysis experience
- SHRM, HRCI, CEBS, GBA certification preferred
