High Level Overview of Role

Best in class service delivery is critical to DataBank. The Core Services Service Delivery Project Manager knows all relevant details associated with deploying customer data center solutions related to space, power, network connectivity, physical security, and containment. Project Managers are responsible for implementing engineering designs of DataBank's colocation products and services for our customers. This primarily includes cabinets, cages, power, and critical network elements associated with data center connectivity. Project Managers own on time and on budget performance while assuring the delivery meets engineering design specifications. They do this through end-to-end process & milestone management, budget tracking & reporting, and issue & risk management. An effective PM will work cross functionally and in customer facing scenarios, while providing appropriate status reports that display a clear command of project details.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Manage a portfolio of projects that range from moderately complex to large scale, multi-phase projects
  • Deliver projects on time, on budget, and in compliance with DataBank engineering design & standards
  • Provide excellent customer experience
  • Performance manage 3rd party vendors to project expectations, timelines, and budget
  • Proactively and consistently assess project risks and develop relevant mitigation strategies
  • Own issues associated with projects and drive resolution to assure success
  • Assure all systems of record are updated accurately and timely, and complete required administrative close out activity that allows for successful project completion and revenue realization
  • Schedule and lead status calls for customers and internal stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Fundament project management skills, including the ability to define custom project plans for complex or cross-functional efforts, regularly update status reports, effectively lead recurring project calls, track & manage deliverables/risks/issues, track & manage non-recurring cost budget and finances, achieve operational results through leadership/influence/ownership, and accurately maintain systems of record
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Understand all relevant details deploying customer fit out solutions related to space, power, network connectivity, physical security, and containment
  • Experience managing capital projects
  • High School Diploma (associate or bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of telecom/colocation experience required
  • Operational Fundamentals (Ability to drive performance, govern process compliance, hold people accountable, develop, and analyze KPIs, and achieve results)
