The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Perform adult and pediatric echocardiographic studies including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow Imaging, and Transesophageal Echocardiograms. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology
  • ARDMS or CCI certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire
  • Must be board eligible at time of hire
  • BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Per Diem
  • Scheduling will vary based on the needs of the department
  • Weekend availability required

Essential Functions:

  • Performs echocardiograms with Doppler, color flow analysis, and strain to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease
  • Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to determine each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment
  • Assists the nurse and physician in the performance of transesophageal echocardiograms
  • Administers Definity when necessary to obtain high-quality images
  • Performs echocardiograms on both hospital patients and outpatients, which includes offsite locations in the area
