As a Banquet Bartender at The Pfister Hotel, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a courteous, friendly, and timely manner, ensuring superior guest satisfaction at every event. You will also prepare beverages for servers, maintain bar setup, and follow all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations. Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. What you will be doing:* Maintain proper and adequate setup of the bar daily, including paper products, condiments, produce, beer, wine, and spirits, based on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). * Cut, prepare, and store fruit, garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure quality throughout service. * Greet guests in a professional and courteous manner, take and document orders, and prepare beverages using standard recipes and portion control. * Provide beverages for servers to supply to guests in banquet settings. * Maintain cleanliness of bar and guest areas throughout service. * Accurately handle cash, verify charges, issue change, and balance all transactions. * Lock and store beverage, food, and equipment items securely at the end of service. * Perform general cleaning tasks to ensure adherence to health and safety standards. * Follow all liquor regulations to ensure compliance with state, federal, and corporate policies. * Assist security with disorderly guests if necessary. * Perform other related duties and special requests as assigned by management. Position Requirements:* 1-2 years of bartending experience required; banquet or high-volume experience preferred. * Must have basic knowledge of beverage preparation, recipes, and service of alcoholic beverages. * Bartending certificate and TIPS certification required; CPR/First Aid preferred. * Strong mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, and process transactions. * Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with guests and complete paperwork. * Manual dexterity to prepare garnishes, scoop ice, pour beverages, and handle glassware safely. * Ability to memorize and promote drink menus and specials. * Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods. * Must adhere to Local 122 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations, with the option for union membership after 90 days.
