Shift Supervisor Fuel Cycle Facility

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Shift Supervisor to work on our Fuel Conditioning Facility team. Our team works a rotating 4x12 schedule located out of our Fuel Cycle Facility (FCF) at the Materials and Fuels Complex.

FCF work activities including waste handling/storage, processing and treating nuclear fuel, radioactive and hazardous material handling/storage as well as tracking, packaging, transferring, receiving, and storing fissionable materials. The FCF Shift Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations and maintenance activities within the nuclear facility. As first line management, provide managerial and technical expertise to the on-duty Shift Supervisor and facility personnel performing activities within assigned facility. Responsible to implement all functions contained within the Management Model.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage activities of a broad functional area through non-exempt and exempt specialists. Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
• Responsible for coordinating operations and research schedules, and communicating impacts to programs.
• Receive assignments based on incremental objectives and defined processes.
• Develop and manage routine operational and maintenance plans for assigned facilities.
• Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the business unit.
• Interact with other functional organizations within MFC, including: engineering, maintenance, radiological controls, and research programs.
• Supervise a team of approximately 12 nuclear facility operators including Process Operations and Facility Operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related science, technology, or business field and 4 years relevant experience, OR relevant Vocational certificate and 10 years relevant experience, OR 12 years relevant nuclear experience.
• Must hold a current FCF Shift Supervisor Qualification.
• Must have experience conducting operations at FCF.

Relevant experience includes:

• Must be qualified as a Fuels Conditioning Facility Systems Operator.

• Fissile Material Handler Supervisor
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and/or previous supervisory experience.
• Must have successfully completed FCF Shift Supervisor qualification
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy an "L" or a "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information:

• The target Range $127,528 - $191,413. Full Range $91,812 - $220,332. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

• TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
