Responsibilities
Leadership skills
- Develop and monitor work schedules on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to ensure each unit has the appropriate staffing requirements and key financial targets are being met.
- Guide and assist in the training of new employees to ensure proper housekeeping techniques are being utilized and patient safety and employee safety is being upheld.
- Lead, encourage and coach Environmental Services team members with regards to the importance of team work and a safe working environment.
- Identify areas within the hospital where cleaning improvements can be made.
Relationship Management
- Completes new hire interviews and provide feedback to the Vice President of Operations with regards to appropriate staffing levels.
- Completes/participates in team member evaluations, action plans and disciplinary processes as required
- Act as a liaison between the Environmental Services team and other departmental leaders to build solid working relationships focused on team work and extraordinary patient care.
Financial Management
- Monitors & approves employee payroll for accurate and efficient processing.
- Identify and order needed supplies in accordance to financial metrics that act as key departmental drivers.
- Completes yearly budgeting and manage the ongoing budget of the department.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience:
- 1-3 years of general knowledge of housekeeping functions
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read, write and understand English
