JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Penn State Dickinson Law has an immediate opening for a half-time (20 hours/week) Counselor in the Career Services Office. The overarching mission of Dickinson Law is to produce profession-ready lawyers who are equipped with the skills and competencies necessary to excel in an increasingly global legal market. Learn more about Dickinson Law at http://www.dickinsonlaw.psu.edu. Penn State Dickinson Law operates as a single law school with locations in Carlisle, PA and University Park (State College), PA. As a unified law school, members of the Career Services team support J.D. students and alumni at both locations. The successful candidate may choose to be physically located in either Carlisle or University Park, and a hybrid work schedule may be permissible. The Counselor will report to the student-facing Assistant Dean of Career Services. The successful candidate will have a primary focus on career counseling for students and alumni, with the objective of maximum employment for Dickinson Law students. Activities include:

Candidates must be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as Microsoft 365 cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint) or other similar productivity platforms. A willingness and ability to learn new software and web-based applications, including our employment management CRM (12Twenty). Professional demeanor, project management capabilities, and the ability to work well with a diverse law student/alumni population are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated organizational skills are essential. A master's degree is required. A Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school and legal practice experience are preferred. Experience in career coaching/counseling, training, supervising, and evaluating professional development is strongly preferred.
