Sr Mgr Mat Projects PACS The Sr. Manager of Material projects and accounts oversees the supply and management of materials needed for Packaging and Customization Services (PACS) operations. This role manages client projects and nurtures relationships with clients. They plan projects, coordinate various teams, and manage material budgets to reach their client's goals. The Sr. Manager of Material Projects and Accounts is integral to the supply chain and will be leading the material team, to ensure that work is completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. The manager provides leadership to strategically manage risk and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time. - Lead a team of Materials Planners to achieve the goals and objectives of the PACS Materials Management Team.
- Actively work with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure strategic sourcing and supplier management programs to optimize costs while meeting GEODIS' operational requirements build strong relationships with strategic vendors and PACS operations leadership.
- Serve as the lead point of contact on materials projects for both internal and external clients while building and nurturing trusted, long-lasting relationships.
- Develop strategies to grow existing accounts and ensure quality and cost-effective services.
- Work closely with new clients to identify their needs, develop solutions, finalize sales and contracts.
- Present to and influence key GEODIS stakeholders and clients to ensure success of various initiatives.
- Drive new projects and relationship extensions by partnering with the business development, client services and implementation teams.
- Maintain a high level of engagement with customers through consultative management of projects and accounts; proactively identify the challenges they are facing.
- Ensure that the team is providing quality, cost-effective services.
- Lead negotiation with PACS specific vendors.
- Create and execute supply planning strategies to meet the category, department, project, and customer needs.
- Manage supplier relationships and allocation of material to demands based on priority. Drive supplier improvement initiatives to continually lower risk and reduce lead times without driving excess.
- Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations.
- Leads material initiatives through the entire sourcing life cycle to optimize the supply base and maximize value for GEODIS.
- Interfaces with customers and GEODIS leadership to ensure production initiatives are achievable within quality and timeline requirements.
- Analyzes short and long-term initiatives; Adjusts planning methodology to stay ahead of evolving business requirements.
- Supports GEODIS' programs for Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Ethics, Compliance, CSR and Sustainability
- Other duties as required and assigned
What you need: (requirements) Experience
- Minimum 5 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project management experience is preferred.
- Retail-Pharma-OTC-Tech and Market Knowledge preferred
- Strong understanding of industry standards, business operations and regulatory requirements.
- Deep understanding of Retail customer landscape including shopper marketing, retail environment, interactive store solutions, and e-commerce package.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and operations offerings, including Contract Logistics, corrugated technical knowledge, manufacturing techniques of thermoform, corrugated and print + digital, and supply chain solutions.
- Expertise in crafting end-to-end supply chain solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Proven ability to overcome complex obstacles and implement strategic logistics solutions effectively.
- Experience handling RFQs for complex and large-scale international logistics operations
- Proven experience in leading multicultural, cross-functional project teams.
- Skilled at managing customer relationships at senior levels, with a focus on strategic alignment and long-term partnership
