Job Title: Tier 1 SOC Analyst
Location: Onsite 5x/week - 250 Murray Ln SW Washington, District of Columbia 20509
Clearance Level: Active DoD - Secret
SUMMARY
We work together in partnership to defend our nation's critical infrastructure while building meaningful and exciting career development opportunities in a culture tailored to the individuals technical and professional growth. We are seeking a Tier 1 Analyst for a potential opportunity to support enterprise SOC operations. This role reviews, triages and investigates alerts under direct supervision, contributing to improved incident detection.
The Tier 1 Analyst position is designed for individuals starting their cybersecurity careers, requiring foundational knowledge and the ability to apply basic technical principles. This is a unique opportunity to shape the growth, development and culture of an exciting and fast-growing company in the cybersecurity market.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Review, triage and investigate alerts to support incident detection.
* Escalate issues to Tier 2 analysts when appropriate.
* Perform initial analysis of security events to identify potential threats.
* Support SOC monitoring activities under supervision.
* Assist in documenting findings and maintaining SOC records.
* Apply basic technical knowledge to resolve straightforward problems.
* Participate in training and skill development to build cybersecurity expertise.
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
* Bachelor's degree or 3+ additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Required Skills
* Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and SOC operations.
* Familiarity with incident detection, alert triage and escalation processes.
* Ability to apply foundational technical knowledge to routine problems.
* Willingness to learn and develop skills under supervision.
* Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
* Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking.
* Industry-recognized certifications.
WORKING CONDITIONS
* Light - 20 lbs. Maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 10 lbs. A job is light if less lifting is involved but significant walking/standing is done or if done mostly sitting but requires push/pull on arm or leg controls.
