Salary Details |
The academic year salary for an assistant professor will not be less than $82,110, based on the most recent collective bargaining agreement between the faculty union (AAUP-AFT) and Rutgers University. |

The Department of Economics of the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University-New Brunswick invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to start Fall 2026. Candidates should conduct research that emphasizes health, the environment and energy, or inequality and that complements the research areas of our applied microeconomics faculty. The position involves significant scholarly research as well as teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in microeconomics or econometrics and in the field of specialization.
Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent degree in Economics or a related field is required by the start date. Candidates should upload a cover letter, curriculum vita, research statement, teaching statement with evaluations (if any), up to three research papers, and the names of three confidential recommendation letter writers. Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
