This position works under general direction and is responsible for managing the production process and employees on assigned shift to maximize production results and meet Customer demand. This is a hands-on position that is heavily engaged in day-to-day production activities.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

• Leading and mentoring a team of 8-10 employees by setting expectations, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering a positive, safe, and productive work environment.

• Championing a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety standards, addressing issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

• Managing departmental operations by overseeing schedules, evaluating employee performance, and supporting peers and management as needed.

• Promoting employee engagement and effective communication through shift meetings, problem resolution, and initiatives such as Heartbeat Survey actions.

• Hiring, training, and developing team members to ensure alignment with company goals and personal growth opportunities.

• Driving performance in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and people through lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools like 5S, A3, SPS, and Kaizen.

• Leading and participating in cross-functional and CAPEX projects, including the design, validation, and implementation of new processes and equipment.

• Ensuring compliance with GMP, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines, while providing daily production support and troubleshooting.

• Reviewing and maintaining accurate production records, addressing customer complaints and audit findings, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels-from operators to executives-and with external contractors.

• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

• Sound judgment to make administrative, procedural, or employment-related decisions in a dynamic setting.

• A working knowledge of continuous improvement principles and their practical application.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 10%, as needed.

• A bachelor's degree in a business or science-related discipline, along with 1-3 years of supervisory experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).

• The physical ability to frequently talk, hear, use hands to handle objects or operate a keyboard, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.

• Visual acuity requirements including depth perception, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Shift Schedule:

Sunday - Thursday

10pm - 6:30am

Location: Madison, Wisconsin (On-site)

Expected salary range: $75,000-$90,000
