Position Summary

The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of facility equipment, machinery, and systems. This role serves as a technical expert within the RDC team, ensuring production and building operations run efficiently and safely. The Senior Maintenance Technician will mentor other business partners, lead projects, and collaborate across departments to support operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, building systems, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for other team members, providing training, guidance, and mentorship.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used, equipment history, and preventive maintenance logs.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance projects, shutdowns, and capital improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and resolve issues quickly to minimize production disruption.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and management to identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend long-term solutions.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and safety initiatives to support a culture of continuous improvement.

Personal Attributes and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with PLCs, automated systems, and industrial controls preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor less experienced technicians.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
