RN - New Graduate Pathway into Emergency Services (Fall/Winter 2025 RN Graduates)

If you are a Fall/Winter 2025 RN new grad with a desire and passion to become a nurse in Emergency Services, we encourage you to apply to this innovative orientation program to accelerate your progression to our high-acuity department. These positions will have orientation in specific MedSurg departments that will assist in preparation for your career in Emergency Services. Throughout this program you will get an opportunity to work the med/surg floors, seeing a variety of patient populations and building your foundational nursing skills while having scheduled immersion shifts in Emergency Services every 6 weeks. The immersion shifts will help foster and build rapport with the team while becoming familiar with department policies, procedures, and patient populations.Your professional development nurses will support you along the way and help you grow your professional practice to ensure you have a successful career in your chosen specialty.

Emergency Services, a Level II ACS-verified Trauma Center, is a high-energy, patient-centered environment that serves more than 68,000 patients annually with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs. The department consists of 45 total patient exam rooms including ten Urgent Care rooms, five resuscitation/trauma/critical care rooms, and three dedicated Behavioral Health rooms that serve every patient population from infancy to the elderly. Patients have 24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray, and surgical services. We are also a Stroke Center with 24/7 neuro-interventional capabilities and a Chest Pain Center with 24/7 interventional cardiac catheterization lab capabilities. Emergency Services, a 2023 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award recipient, is recognized and acknowledged for excellence throughout the department through metrics and patient experience that is difficult to find anywhere else in the nation.

Position Details:

• 60 hours biweekly (0.75 FTE)

• There may be varied schedules depending on the orientation unit

• Prior Hospital or EMS experience preferred

• Enjoy an attractive hourly rate of $38.10 per hour as well as generous shift/weekend/holiday differentials

What You'll Need:

• A minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing upon hire

• RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin upon hire

• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

• Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, including toddlers and adults

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
