Description

SRC is searching for a well-rounded Senior Network Engineer to architect, design, and implement secure Information Technology (IT) networks in support of the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) C2F Headquarters MILCON and related small projects. This role is critical to enabling advanced command and control operations, providing expertise in network design, enclave integration, and cybersecurity compliance across unclassified, secret, and TS/SCI domains. The engineer will manage multiple efforts simultaneously, from early-stage planning and Bill of Materials (BOM) development through installation oversight and operational validation. Responsibilities span procurement support (IGCE, C-SCRM vetting), enclave-specific product compliance (ITECH, DISA APL/EPL), and network performance optimization, ensuring that delivered capabilities align with mission requirements and DoD standards. This position requires close collaboration with functional area managers (FAMs), system engineers, and program sponsors to achieve seamless integration of new networks into secure facility environments, including SCIF and SAP-F spaces. Work supporting USSPACECOM will be performed onsite at government facilities in Huntsville, AL. Duties & Responsibilities Include:

    Leading the design, documentation, and implementation of network architectures for C2F data centers, SCIF, and SAP-F spaces
  • Engineering and configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and COMSEC devices to meet DoD and USSPACECOM mission requirements
  • Developing network diagrams, schematics, and configuration documentation in support of RMF/ATO efforts
  • Developing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) to support procurement packages
  • Implementing security protocols (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, TACLANE) to safeguard critical mission networks
  • Ensuring equipment complies with enclave-specific Approved Product Lists (APL, EPL, ITECH)
  • Performing performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution using tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Splunk
  • Conducting supply chain risk management (C-SCRM) assessments as part of procurement and accreditation workflows
  • Ensuring integration of emerging technologies (e.g., virtualization, VXLAN/EVPN, cloud interconnects) with legacy systems
  • Conducting capacity planning to scale networks for future mission growth
  • Supporting program reviews, briefings, and senior-level technical exchanges

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of progressive network engineering experience supporting DoD or IC programs
  • Hands-on experience configuring/administering routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Active CCNP or JNCIP certification
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE) or higher
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or IT (or equivalent experience)


Desired Skills

  • Three or more years of network design experience with high availability/load-balanced architectures
  • Experience generating and reviewing procurement documentation (BOMs, IGCEs, C-SCRM checklists)
  • Familiarity with enclave-specific compliance repositories (e.g., ITECH, DISA APL, EPL)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to brief senior leaders
  • Experience supporting MILCON or facility-based IT/OT integration projects
  • Knowledge of special-access facility infrastructure requirements (SAP-F)

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL
