This position is funded for 12 months; continuation past 12 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.POSITION SPECIFICS TheBordenstein LaboratoryinPenn State University'sDepartments of Biologyand Entomology and One Health Microbiome Center seeks aResearch Technologist - Advanced Professionalto design, implement, support, analyze, and report on rigorous research in molecular biology that begins a new phase of study in endosymbionts. This position seeks a high risk / high reward aptitude for a project that aims to transform a fastidious bacterium. Experiences with plasmid constructs, genome sequencing and analysis, insect cell culture, genetic transformation of bacteria, and/or insect handling are requested and should be detailed in the cover letter.
