Job Overview The General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of food and beverage operations (Licensed Starbucks, Macy's Cafes, quick serve and full service restaurants) within assigned store locations to deliver exceptional customer experience, drive financial results, and maintain operational excellence. This role oversees compliance with Food Division and brand standards, ensures adherence to health and safety regulations, and manages day-to-day operations including food quality, sanitation, and equipment care. The General Manager provides strong leadership to recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, fostering engagement and minimizing turnover. This position is accountable for financial performance, including sales, controlling expenses, and achieving profit goals through effective use of system tools and strategic planning. Success in this role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and operational expertise, along with the ability to build relationships, partner across teams, and create an inclusive, respectful environment for colleagues and customers. What You Will Do
- Ensure compliance with Food Division Standards, brand requirements (e.g., Starbucks), health department regulations, and company policies. Oversee food production, quality checks, sanitation, and equipment care to maintain safety and service standards.
- Manage sales, expenses, and profit goals by using reports to monitor performance, control costs, and achieve monthly P&L targets. Handle ordering, invoice processing, and inventory to meet budget requirements.
- Hire, train, and coach colleagues to drive engagement, minimize turnover, and improve performance. Monitor and document performance, conduct regular check-ins, deliver reviews, and provide recognition to motivate the team.
- Create schedules and process payroll to optimize productivity, manage labor costs, and ensure adequate staffing for business needs.
- Deliver exceptional service by maintaining high food and beverage standards and coordinating special events and promotions to drive sales.
- Build strong relationships with store leadership and partner with Human Resources on hiring, employee relations, and performance management.
- Maintain a professional appearance, uphold grooming standards, and ensure dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Skills You Will Need
- Ability to lead, train, and develop a high-performing team while fostering engagement, reducing turnover, and partnering on hiring and performance management.
- Expertise in managing food and beverage operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, brand requirements, and company policies.
- Skilled in managing budgets, analyzing financial reports, controlling costs, and achieving profit and loss goals.
- Ability to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and implement strategies to improve performance and drive business results.
- Proficient in ordering, inventory control, scheduling, and payroll management to optimize productivity and meet business needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for partnering with teams, presenting information clearly, and ensuring alignment across departments.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and food management systems to support operational efficiency.
- Must be ServSafe certified or have food handler permit as required by state or local health department.
- Must be able to successfully obtain Barista Basics, Barista Trainer, and Daily Ops certifications for Starbucks Licensed leaders within introductory period.

- Candidates with a High School Diploma or equivalent are encouraged to apply
- General or multi-location restaurant management or equivalent experience preferred
- Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel
- Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms
- This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands.
- Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
- May involve reaching above eye level
- Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs
