Summary Statement: The person in this position is responsible for operating a mattress closing machine, ensuring quality standards are within specifications.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform daily safety checks of all tools and equipment prior to beginning work, notifying maintenance of any problems/concerns.
• Operate the mattress closing machine, including feeding materials into the machine as the machine is moving around the mattress.
• Correct any defective taping on mattresses.
• Ensure all sewing specifications and quality parameters are met.

Marginal Job Functions

• Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
• Participate in training and meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Must be able to stand and move mattresses throughout a 10-hour workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 120 pounds.
• Must be detail and quality oriented.

Education and Work Experience

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior production experience is required.
• One to three years' experience with a mattress closing machine or similar seam closing machine is preferred
