Position Summary:
The primary function of an assistant credit manager is to assist the credit manager in the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions daily
- Check for invoicing and payment errors while posting payments
- Assist with collections
- Work closely with management and sales team to resolve any discrepancies
- Manage relations with sales department
- Recommend changes in the credit policy to management if necessary
- Assist with creating a credit scoring model
- Manage customer credit files
- Assist with monitoring the credit granting and updating process
- Process and investigate all credit applications
- Establish relationships with large customers
- Monitor periodic credit reviews
- Monitor deductions being taken by customers
- Assist with establishing and tracking customer projects/jobs
- Prepare and track lien releases
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree emphasis in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
- Strong Microsoft office skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of credit related laws
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mechanic's Lien Laws

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 70% of the time.
- Will occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
