Overview

Scope of Position

The HR Immigration & Project Specialist is responsible for managing a wide range of HR compliance activities and company initiatives. The HR Immigration & Project Specialist will oversee Haskell Immigration program, including being the liaison with immigration counsel/Employer of Record (EOR) and managers, ensuring compliance with Haskell immigration policies, and education managers on the processes.

Job Responsibilities
    Manage and oversee the immigration processes as key contact with outside counsel and ensure Haskell's immigration practices are followed.
  1. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert to team members and supervisors about relocation and assignment requirements.
  2. Coordinate with external vendors and international departments to ensure accurate processing of assignments compensation, allowances and applicable policies or legislation.
  3. Maintain and update accurate and confidential records related to mobility assignments.
  4. Educates, trains, and provides tools to managers to help them better understand the immigration sponsorship program.
  5. Create and manage reports to illustrate Haskell's immigration practice participation across the enterprise.
  6. Manage the immigration process for team members assigned overseas.
  7. Work closely with the international HR team to monitor progress and status of immigration processes outside of the US, manage internal needs with US based staff based on direction of international HR.
  8. Support and participate in HR projects such as process improvement, engagement initiatives and policy implementation.
  9. Help design and implement communication plans around HR initiatives and project deliverables.
  10. Support routine compliance tasks in coordination with HR Ops including unemployment claims, employment verifications, random drug screen, program, employment posters, job descriptions, I9s etc. as needed.
  11. Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities and risks and effectively document processes and related controls.
  12. Oversee and lead other HR activities as needed.
Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education and experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree. 3 to 7 years of experience in HR compliance and immigration or a similar field.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.

  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws, with the ability to effectively conduct international research where necessary.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to synthesis information and make recommendations efficiently

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Haskell is a drug-free workplace.
