Job Description

General Summary:

The Pricing & Market Access Director is responsible for supporting the development of Market Access strategies for a product or indication, as well as partnering cross-functionally on the Commercial and Development strategies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports Global payer strategic planning and execution to advance value and access optimization
  • Supports the development of Market Access strategies and core pricing & access deliverables operating within the Global Commercial model
  • Ensures the payer position is consistently represented to internal cross-functional stakeholders and ensure robust strategic input into commercialization and development decisions
  • Ensures robust value proposition and integrated evidence plans are optimized to support global market access and reimbursement
  • Contributes to strategies and forecasts with in-depth market research, environmental data & analogs
  • Works with assigned regions and countries as required on execution of pricing and access strategy, including the localization of access strategy, tactical execution and pricing business cases
  • Ensures value and access optimization

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of both US and ex-US healthcare systems
  • Ability to think strategically and make sound pricing and market access insights/recommendations
  • Strong practical, quantitative and analytical skills combined with a sound understanding of how to successfully apply pricing & reimbursement / HEOR principles to support Vertex
  • Exhibits outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively write and deliver presentations to professionals at all levels within Vertex
  • Relationship building at all levels of the organization and across geographies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate difficult concepts and persuade others

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Typically requires 8 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range:

$175,500 - $263,200

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
