Assistant Teacher - Full Time | 4-Day Work Week | Rockport, Maine

TheCreative Learning Center at MaineHealth Pen Bay Medical Centeris hiring aFull-Time Assistant Teacherto join our dedicated team in beautifulRockport, Maine. This position offers a4-day work week (36 hours/week)withno nights, weekends, or holidays. Our center operatesMonday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM, so your evenings and long weekends are always yours.

Founded in 1990, the Creative Learning Center originally welcomed children from the local community and MaineHealth employees. Today, we proudly servechildren of MaineHealth employees only, offering care and education for children aged12 weeks to 5 yearsacrossfive age-based classrooms. Our close-knit, mission-driven program is deeply rooted in quality care and early learning excellence.

What You'll Do:

As anAssistant Teacher, you'll support lead teachers in creating developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences that spark curiosity and growth. You'll work alongside a team of passionate educators who believe in the power of early childhood education and the importance of collaboration with families.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Completion of foundational level early childhood trainings or college courses preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification preferred. Current community/caregiver level CPR Certification and First Aid Certification preferred or must complete within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: Teaching/caregiving in group childcare/preschool setting preferred; Experience with the Creative Curriculum and NAEYC Accreditation preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Minimum age of 18 years of age.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
