The Workforce Development Senior Specialist in the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is responsible for identifying, implementing, and tracking workforce development program goals, both short and long term; goals directed at CTSI trainees, clinical research professionals, NIH-funded scholars, cross-institutional, cross discipline OSU faculty and staff, and the national CTSA community. Liaises with the clinical research education representatives from the CTMO and CTO, as well as our pediatric partners; works under the supervision of the CTSI Administrative Director. The Workforce Development Senior Specialist plans, organizes, develops, implements, and evaluates workforce development programs and learning activities designed to assist the target population develop their clinical and translational research skills and careers. Develops, manages, and coordinates major areas of workforce development programming related to clinical and translational clinical research professionals including seminars, symposia, workshops, and online educational offerings. Serves as a resource specialist to CTSI constituents on education and training programs. Coordinates and assists other CTSI staff and program leaders on workforce development initiatives as needed. Works to implement Team Science initiatives. Knowledgeable of relevant OSU educational resources. Able to work well with faculty, staff, and students from across the university. Possesses excellent project management skills, collaborative abilities, and initiative

Experience: experience in project management, education program planning and administration; excellent written and oral communication skills desired, including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, faculty, and staff; experience using Microsoft Office software and LMS systems desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.

Minimum required qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable
  • 4 years of relevant experience required.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • experience in project management, education program planning and administration;
  • excellent written and oral communication skills desired, including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, faculty, and staff;
  • experience using Microsoft Office software and LMS systems desired.
