100% Effort
Collect soil, plant and insect samples from field sites across the state.
Document data of collected samples from field locations
Transport and preserve samples in preferable conditions for chemical analysis
Ensure Enviornmental Protection Agency and Minnesota Department of Agriculture protocols are followed throughout the process of collection, documentation and transportation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years. Prior experience with field work and collecting insects

About the Department

Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior (EEB) faculty teach undergraduate classes, advise graduate students, and conduct research in the areas of ecology, evolution, and behavior. Check out the Faculty and research section to learn more about them and their intriguing research interests.

EEB is part of the College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota and is one of the University's most highly-ranked units. The department is located in the Ecology Building on the St. Paul campus, but also has two major field stations where students and faculty conduct field research. Many of the research collections of the Bell Museum are also located in the Ecology Building, and the department is an affiliated department of the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $22.00 to $23.30/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 50%-74% Appointment

Position Type: Civil-Service & Non-Faculty Labor Represented Staff
