Responsibilities & Expectations:

IPS is seeking a dedicated Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the safety of employees, support the day-to-day operations of the service center, and provide training and mentorship to your direct reports.

  • Employe Safety and Development: Maintain a hazard-free environment on the production floor, train and mentor employees, and support their ongoing development.
  • Operational Planning and Coordination: Plan, direct, and coordinate labor requirements to support production, including tear-downs, inspections, repairs, and field service jobs.
  • Technical Support: Assist with technical training and advise the workforce on motor repair and refurbishment techniques.
  • Customer Relations: Coordinate customer visits and communicate technical and scheduling support as needed.
  • Quality and Compliance: Support the quality system by editing process documentation and standards. Assist with customer qualifications and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Budgeting and Staffing: Create the production operating cost budget, manage the hourly workforce, and track job performance and overtime.
  • Facility Management: Coordinate the maintenance of the facility and equipment.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Education and Experience: Associate degree in an industrial, mechanical, or electrical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of electric motor/generator manufacturing or repair techniques. Machine shop knowledge is a plus.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to lead, mentor, and coach technically skilled staff and interact professionally with others.
  • Problem-Solving: Experience with continuous improvement and/or lean manufacturing.
  • Working Conditions: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work weekends as needed.
  • Required: Valid Driver's License
