The primary responsibility of the Senior Design and Development Engineer will be to support the GATX Engineering Technical Services Group's mission by providing mechanical engineering stress analysis, working with engineering structural analysis consultants, provide project management, and engineering support in executing rail car purchasing, modifications and/or repairs. Provide field troubleshooting services in cases involving structural or component failure and other operational issues. Lastly, the role will be a resource for support for technical/analytical guidance to GATX International teams. Responsibilities
Perform stress and mechanical analysis using classical methods, FEA, fatigue/fracture mechanics, and materials science.
Qualifications
This is a hybrid position that requires the employee to work in the office at least three days a week throughout the year. Posting Duration This posting will remain open until the role is filled. As of the post date, the salary range for this position is: Min USD $90,400.00/Yr. Max USD $114,600.00/Yr. This role may be eligible to participate in the Company's short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire. This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs. |
