Summary:

The EHS Coordinator develops, implements, and manages environmental health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safe work environment. They conduct inspections, identify hazards, provide training, investigate incidents, and maintain related documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Policy Maintenance and Implementation:


  • Maintaining and implementing EHS programs, policies, and procedures to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and accidents and promote environmental stewardship in alignment with SKF Group EHS.



Compliance:


  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.



Inspections and Audits:


  • Conducting regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and assess risks.



Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:


  • Identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and recommending corrective actions to mitigate those risks.



Training and Education:


  • Developing and delivering training programs to employees on safety regulations, proper handling of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency preparedness.



Incident Investigation:


  • Investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventative measures.



Documentation Management:


  • Maintaining and updating safety data sheets (SDS), incident reports, safety training records, safety manuals, and other relevant documentation.



Emergency Response:


  • Developing and implementing emergency response plans and conducting drills to ensure employee preparedness.



Communication:


  • Communicating effectively with management, employees, and regulatory agencies regarding EHS matters.



Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in EHS or a related field.
  • Experience in an EHS role, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of federal and state safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and assess risky situations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and databases.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
