Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Diagnostic Imaging Technical Specialist to join the team. This role will be full-time night shift from Monday - Friday, 9:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Diagnostic Imaging Technical Specialist Job Responsibilities:



  • The Diagnostic Imaging Technical Specialist provides clinical services in multiple modalities, according to Imaging practice standards, with equal time spent in each modality, based on OU needs, while acting as a resource to Imaging Students and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.
  • Administers sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures while ensuring the safety of patients.
  • Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent to assist physicians in optimizing the performance and interpretation of examinations.
  • Performs and documents routine quality control testing of equipment, as well as performs/recognizes the need for routine maintenance of imagers/processors to maintain consistent quality images, as evidenced by the physician and exam results.
  • Assists in the development, review, and implementation of policies/procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: Graduate of accredited school/program of radiography
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of one year of imaging experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital/healthcare environment.
    • Must be able to perform in two or more modalities with at least even amount of time spent rotating in each annually based on needs. CT Cross Training.

  • Certification:

    • ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist upon start
    • Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within one year of training
    • American Heart Association BLS within 3 months of hire.
