Facilities Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Our Facilities Technician maintains and repairs various building systems and equipment, ensuring a safe and functional environment. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems, as well as performing routine maintenance and responding to emergencies. They may also be involved in preventative maintenance, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining inventory of parts and supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for planning and directing maintenance service and repairs for all Inotiv - St. Louis facilities and grounds.
  • Collaborating with management on budgeting for facilities needs
  • Ensures compliance with current, applicable laws, and develops facilities and maintenance policies to meet Company needs and comply with state and federal laws.
  • Implements facilities and maintenance strategies.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of facilities and maintenance issues.
  • Frequent interaction with contractors, maintenance technicians, and other service personnel.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service, as needed.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities, as needed.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, and parking lots.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Interact with the community and employees
  • Support and participate in other company initiatives as directed by senior management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and experience

  • High School diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of experience in a maintenance or service role including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general contractor work.
  • Valid Driver's License, as travel to other sites or stores will be required.

Skills and abilities

  • High energy level required. Must have tolerance for stress and ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with Inotiv staff and management, and with outside vendors/customers.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
