The Department of Pharmacy, consistent with the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine, places a priority on teaching, research, and patient care.

The Operations Manager (Inpatient Clinical Services) reports to the Division Director for the Adult Medicine, Emergency, and Surgery Pharmacy. Is responsible for working collaboratively with the health care team to promote wellness, maintain current health, or intervene in acute or chronic illness, as well as assisting the Division Director with managerial responsibilities. Promotes the safe and effective use of medications by consulting with other health care professionals concerning problems and instructs patients and families on their medications.

The Operations Manager (Inpatient Clinical Services) will have primary responsibility for the oversight and optimization of our clinical pharmacy services to adult, non-oncology service patients. They will manage and support our inpatient clinical pharmacy specialist and clinical pharmacist II teams. They will also work with their fellow operations managers to assist in the oversight of our broader clinical pharmacy services and medication use procedures. There are also opportunities for committee involvement and leadership, precepting, and clinical care time.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm D. or BS degree.
  • Minimum of one year of hospital experience with responsibility for the supervision of pharmacy personnel is desired.
  • Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience is desired.
  • Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required.


Salary Range: Minimum 53.55/hour - Maximum 93.74/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
