Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Product Development Analyst who is passionate about shaping innovative energy solutions and experiences that meet real customer needs. This role blends creativity with analytical rigor-requiring someone who can conceptualize compelling product ideas and validate them through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment and is motivated by the challenge of turning ideas into impactful products.

Success in this role requires a unique mix of creativity, analytical thinking, organization, curiosity, and resiliency. You'll manage multiple concurrent workstreams, balancing long-term strategic initiatives with short-term efforts. You'll champion product concepts from ideation through development, build strong business cases, and advocate for your ideas across the organization. This person will need to have the courage to ask thoughtful questions, make informed recommendations, and stay relentlessly curious.

This is an opportunity to help shape products from the ground up-products that don't yet exist in the market-while building a cross-functional skillset that is unmatched in other areas of the business. The Product Development team is at the core of this company's growth and provides a great environment to develop cross-functional skillset unparalleled in other functional groups. This position will be reporting to a Senior Manager in Product Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple simultaneous ideas and prioritize the activities based on timeliness and value to the business.
  • Translate business priorities and customer insights into new product concepts.
  • Develop clear, compelling presentations to communicate ideas and progress to cross-functional teams.
  • Shepherd product concepts thorough a well-defined evaluation process through clear presentation decks, timely meetings and clear communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Prioritize initiatives using guiding principles such as business impact and customer value.
  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions, and influence strategic product decisions.
  • Identify and communicate risk and impacts of proposed solutions along with risk mitigation options considering business implications of the application of the product concept.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Conduct research and generate insights, use-cases, and industry analyses to address potential future opportunities.
  • Collaborate across departments and contribute to team success through knowledge sharing and support.
  • Organize and manage tasks proactively, reporting progress and recommending next steps.

Experience:

  • Work experience preferred but not required
  • Product management and/or marketing experience, preferably in the consumer-facing products, financial, or services industries a plus
  • Experience in the energy or smart home company a plus.
  • Experience of working in startups or with an incubator/accelerator a plus.
  • Strong analytical and visual presentation skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, or Economics

  • Ability to think creatively, discover new perspectives on or ways to present products, and problem-solve
  • Ability to understand process, document and continue to improve current process
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills - ability to communicate ideas in email, Powerpoint, and Excel

Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment with frequent collaboration within and across team.
  • Hybrid work environment with 3 days per week in office and 2 days remote; 9am-5pm.
  • Limited travel may be required
