Description
Under general supervision, security personnel will operate and screen all incoming delivery vehicles, to General Motors facilities, using the Vehicle Search Truck. Ensure all vehicles and cargo is properly screened for explosives, hazardous materials, narcotics, weapons or other contraband. Performs daily and weekly maintenance inspections of all required equipment. All three team members are capable of continuous communication via Vehicle radios. During deployment, two team members are typically used to operate the Boom Control Box to deploy the detector and attach the safety gates. This is repeated for stowing the boom for travel. Each technician must be able to perform all of the following positions. Spotter: Conducts safety checks for warning lights, etc. prior to initiating Vehicle Search operation. Direct the vehicle to be inspected to the proper location and perform a visual inspection for any significant protrusions that may interfere with the Vehicle Search Truck or detector assembly. Ensure the target vehicle operator goes to a suitable waiting zone. Informs the Driver that the vehicle is ready to be scanned. Observes any traffic (pedestrians or vehicles) during the scan process to alert the Driver of any danger. Visually ensures that there is sufficient clearance between the target vehicle and Vehicle Search during the scanning process. Alerts the Driver of any dangerous condition. Driver: Conducts daily maintenance checks of Vehicle Search (fluid levels, tire pressure, etc.). Drives the vehicle for relocation purposes. Informs the Image Analyst when a vehicle is ready for scanning. When given the request for scan from the Image Analyst, will operate the Scan Drive system to move the Vehicle Search vehicle past the target vehicle. Steers the Vehicle Search to maintain clearance on both sides of the target vehicle. Image Analyst: Initialize the system electronics and required X-ray warm-up sequences. Conduct appropriate system log on and computer start-up functions. Requests the driver to initiate scan when he has the system appropriately configured. Evaluates the images to determine if hazards/contraband exists. Chooses which images should be archived, printed or discarded. Notifies the Spotter if the target vehicle contents are suspicious. Qualifications
English Language capability suitable for communicating with target vehicle drivers and passengers. 3 years Minimum Military, law enforcement, or Security Services experience. Eyesight correctable to 20/20 with no depth perception problems. Display a high degree of maturity working with valuable assets. Must to able to carry 30 pounds (safety gates) without difficulties. Experience user of Microsoft Windows based personal computer. Minimum of technical school graduate or equivalent experience. BA/BS Preferred or equivalent. Exhibits leadership skills (team leader). |
