Reporting to Sr. Manager, Sales and Retention, the Field Sales Representative for SFHP's new Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP), you will connect underserved, Medicare-eligible individuals to comprehensive health coverage. You will consult with prospective members-many of whom may be lower-income, older adults, or people with disabilities-and help them understand their Medicare and Medi-Cal benefits and how our plan can meet their unique health and financial needs.

You will help achieve member enrollment and retention goals for SFHP's new D-SNP plan by developing sales opportunities and building relationships with community partners and brokers, prospective members, existing members, and their families and communities. You will also partner with clinical and non-clinical teams to help enhanced member experiences. In this field role, you will consult with customers on their insurance needs and match the correct coverages, products, and benefits

Please note that while SFHP supports a hybrid work environment, you are required to be onsite and in-office a minimum of 4 days per month. This is a hybrid position, based in our Downtown San Francisco office.

Salary: $78,000 - $91,000 per year + commission

WHAT YOU WILL DO:



  • Develop and maintain relationships with main contacts at community-based organizations, clinics, hospitals, senior centers, housing developments, and long-term care facilities.
  • Educate Medicare and Medi-Cal dual-eligible individuals, caregivers, and family members about SFHP's D-SNP plan benefits and enrollment options.
  • Assist prospective members with completing enrollment applications, ensuring eligibility and compliance with CMS and DHCS guidelines.
  • Track all interactions, outreach, and lead conversions in the CRM (EvolveNXT) and prepare reports that assess sales activity and outcomes.
  • Follow ethical sales practices and all regulatory requirements from CMS, DHCS, and SFHP's Compliance Department.
  • Initiate and implement opportunities for sales presentations, community events, and other resident activities within assigned communities to support personal and team enrollment goals.
  • Collaborate with clinical teammates to optimize performance and results.
  • Promote member retention by resolving inquiries and communicating with communities, clinical team, family members and current members.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing group results and by sharing best practices across the team.
  • Maintain professional knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal and SFHP benefits by completing all required training and certifications, participating in ongoing coaching related to sales strategy, compliance, and cultural competence and by attending educational workshops.
  • Follow all state and regulatory guidelines by following sales and marketing requirements established by CMS and DHCS and other procedures implemented by the Compliance Department.
  • Meet and maintain requirements for agent Health Insurance Producer license, appointments, and annual product certification (AHIP).
  • Travel 50+% of the time in the assigned area to attend appointments, community events, and meetings. Must have a valid driver's license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation or be comfortable using San Francisco public transportation systems.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING:



  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher) OR 4+ years of customer service/sales experience; bachelor's degree in a related area.
  • One year of customer service or sales experience; healthcare or insurance-related experience preferred. Comfortable navigating conversations with people of varying levels of health literacy and cultural backgrounds.
  • Active California Life/Health Insurance License or ability to obtain within 30 days, and AHIP certification (SFHP will provide support and cover licensing costs).
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and/or nursing community dynamics.
  • Bilingual in English and in one of San Francisco Health Plan's defined threshold languages (Cantonese (strongly preferred), Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog and Russian) required.
  • Must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Experience serving low-income or dual-eligible populations.
  • Understanding of Medi-Cal/Medicaid eligibility and coordination with Medicare.
