Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Patient Monitor for our Sitter Unit, in our New Brunswick Facility.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Night Shift, 40 hours per week (5 shifts per week), 11p-7:30a, includes every other weekend and holidays.

Essential Functions:

* Complies with patient care decisions made by the professional staff and accepts responsibility for following instructions, fulfilling assignments and learning from feedback

* Follows all Suicidal Precautions and Close Observation monitoring policies and procedures

* Observes and reports patient's conditions, behavior, and complaints to the nurse

* Maintains strict patient confidentiality

* Observes and applies appropriate interventions

* Maintains a safe and orderly work/patient care environment

* Assists patients with daily living activities (i.e.; feeding, dressing patients, showering/bathing).

* Transfers, escorts, transports, and ambulates patients

* Assures patients have correct ID bands

* Responds to emergencies in an appropriate manner

* Handles and disposes of infectious and hazardous materials per policies and procedures

* Maintains standards of behavior as established in the Organizational Ethics Codes of Conduct Policy

Patient Monitoring

* Maintains confidentiality of patient information

* Suicide Monitoring: Maintains safety of patients by remaining within an arms distance at all times

* Close Observations: maintains safety of close observation patients per policy

* Safe Patient Handling

* Effective use of Handle with Care Techniques
