Position Highlights |
The Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma, Critical Care, Burns and Emergency Surgery seeks multiple Research Assistants to support clinical research in trauma. We are looking for candidates to serve as a clinical study Research Assistants for trials that will provide 24/7 direct observation and data collection to screen and enroll participants in hemorrhage control, resuscitation, spinal cord injury, surgical site infections, traumatic brain injury, etc. The Research Assistants will work closely with the manager to facilitate the trial by screening, recording interventions, obtaining labs, completing case report forms, assisting with query resolution, and interviewing and scheduling study participants for follow-up. This position will require evening and weekend availability. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Screen and evaluate potential study participants for eligibility.
- Complete and maintain case report forms and participant binders, ensuring consents are current.
- Enter study data into the electronic database accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor patients throughout the clinical pathway (trauma, OR, IR, ICU, clinic) to ensure protocol adherence.
- Notify Trauma Research Manager of any protocol issues or concerns.
- Coordinate required lab testing and scheduling with Banner lab in collaboration with the Trauma Research Manager.
- Attend site visits and contribute to additional duties or projects as assigned.
- Explain the study, obtain consent, and enroll participants.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to performs duties under minimal supervision with general expectations.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
