The Department of Physiology in the College of Medicine is recruiting a Laboratory Coordinator, Senior position. The candidate will coordinate the lab sections of Human Anatomy and Physiology (PSIO 201) within the Physiology Undergraduate Program which includes supervising, scheduling and training the Graduate Teaching Assistant for the laboratories, developing the lab schedule and lab materials, setting up D2L sites for the course, monitoring the lab supplies and course budget, and communicating and coordinating with the course director.

Duties & Responsibilities
Laboratory Experiment Coordination: * Plan, supervise and assist in the set-up of laboratory experiments including assembling equipment, selecting and/or preparing reagents and solutions. * Supervise and assist in the disassembling of laboratory experiments. * Develop and implement schedule for labs and experiments and demonstrations for semester courses. * Develop, test, modify and/or recommend experiment lecture demonstrations and techniques to modifications to better meet course objectives. * Coordinate audiovisual, computer and tutorial facilities and materials.
Assist faculty, teaching assistant, and students with laboratory activities: * Supervise, schedule and train teaching assistants for the laboratories; answer questions concerning experiments and train on equipment usage. * Assist in design of new or modifications of existing laboratory experiments. * Write or rewrite laboratory and lecture demonstration instructions to assist faculty, teaching assistants and students.
Laboratory Upkeep: * Plan and monitor an annual budget for laboratory and lecture theater operation. * Inventory, requisition and restock supplies for the laboratories and lecture theaters. * Recommend new equipment for the laboratory and lecture theaters. Compile statistics such as laboratory and lecture theater utilization figures. Monitor projects with regard to progress and cost. * Arrange for electronic and mechanical repairs and calibrations on equipment or contact appropriate party to perform repairs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in a Human Anatomy and Physiology laboratory.
