The University of Arizona, Campus Health Service (CHS) seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Mental Health Clinician (Behavioral Health Counselor III). This position is responsible for providing direct crisis services including risk assessment, mental health triage, brief counseling, care coordination, consultation and outreach for UA undergraduate, graduate and professional students. This position will work closely with the UA Crisis System Network, CAPS staff, as well as interfacing with the Campus Health Service (CHS) medical team, the Dean of Students Office, Residence Life, faculty, families, other campus departments and community entities.

Duties & Responsibilities |
- Work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary campus-based health and mental health team that provides direct clinical services for enrolled UA students (individuals, couples, groups). These include evaluation, risk assessment, crisis management, brief counseling and care coordination services.
- Serve as a first responder to mental health crises on campus.
- Coordinate with community agencies and programs to ensure continuity in the type and level of patient care.
- Conduct crisis related campus community outreach, prevention, and psycho-educational training focused on supporting campus colleagues, students, and community partners.
- Provide consultation to families, faculty, staff, administrators, and CHS medical providers.
- Maintain clinical records in compliance with ethics, law, and best practices.
- Utilize relevant information technology.
- Attend and participate in regular CAPS staff meetings, case conferences, and in-service/professional development training.
- Participate in relevant CHS and University wide committees, as assigned.
- Provide all services in a manner which is professional, culturally sensitive, and respectful of differences.
- Engage with colleagues in a manner which is professional and respectful of differences.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent theoretical grounding, interventional skillset, and motivation to support the mental health needs of UA students.
- Broad understanding of behavioral health crisis management, de-escalation, risk assessment and intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated responsiveness to a broad range of people and presenting concerns.
- Enthusiastic and innovative approach to college mental health.
- Working knowledge of standards of care and practice for behavioral health first responders.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Minimum Qualifications |
- Master's degree in an applied mental health field (e.g., Social Work or Counseling) from an accredited institution.
- Current Licensure in the State of Arizona as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior clinical experience in a multidisciplinary clinic setting.
- Prior experience in college mental health, including crisis management, mental health triage, case management and brief psychotherapy, as indicated.
- Clinical interest/experience in working with clients with high-risk mental health issues.
- Experience with utilizing an electronic health record.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.
