The primary purpose of this appointment is to support and conduct research in the Paek lab (https://www.paeklab.com/).

The successful candidate will perform laboratory experiments, data analysis and organizing the lab (maintaining stocks, making solutions, organizing lab inventories).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performing a variety of moderately complicated laboratory experiments guided by senior researchers following detailed protocols involving mammalian cell culture, microscopy, and standard molecular biology methods (PCR, western blots, cloning).
  • Make standard plots, perform statistical tests, and provide basic interpretations to senior researchers to review. Preparing figures for publication which includes exporting graphs and formatting to the right font, color, etc.
  • Lab organization: maintain lab stocks, order supplies when needed and requested from other lab members, and organize lab inventories.
  • Help schedule/coordinate semester meetings by sending out reminder emails and attend lab meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Skills include mammalian cell culture, experience with microscopy, and image analysis.
  • A relevant degree in the life-sciences.
