DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of people and property at the center by overseeing the training, guiding, and mentoring of lower-level security officers. Your duties will include managing the activities of residents, employees, and the public in line with established regulations. You will ensure the accurate and efficient operation of the agency's communication center. Other responsibilities include patrolling the facility grounds, buildings, and nearby roadways, either by vehicle or on foot, to maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Additionally, you will handle various communication tasks, including operating the switchboard and monitoring emergency systems such as fire alarms and county emergency notifications. You will also maintain the key control log, monitor security systems, and operate paging systems, base radios, and other related equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with rotating days off. There is no unpaid lunch break for this position.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Security Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the knowledges, skills, and abilities required to provide supervisory security services.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires the possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
