POSITION SUMMARY:

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving the growth and retention of Synagro's service-based business within an assigned sales territory. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities while cultivating and expanding relationships with existing clients. The Area Sales Manager is accountable for achieving sales targets, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, actively networking, and promoting the Synagro brand throughout the designated region.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Develop and execute comprehensive territory sales plans that support regional and corporate growth goals.
  • Prioritize tasks and opportunities in alignment with company objectives and regional strategies.
  • Lead sales activities within the assigned territory, including customer engagement, competitor analysis, and operational coordination.
  • Identify and assess market trends to inform sales strategies and drive sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze competitive offerings; develop strategies to effectively position the company against market threats.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Apply deep product and operational knowledge to craft compelling sales strategies and value-added solutions.
  • Stay current on new products, services, and industry developments relevant to clients and the territory.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and business partners to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present project summaries and proposals to both internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation through contract execution, ensuring timely and consistent progress.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track pipeline activity, customer interactions, and key performance metrics.
  • Monitor and forecast sales performance against established goals and budget targets.
  • Represent the company as a brand ambassador in all client interactions, public engagements, and trade shows.

  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed to support territory coverage and client engagement

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience selling value-based services (preferred: in the municipal or industrial water/wastewater treatment, environmental services, construction, energy or engineering industries).
  • Valid drivers' licenses.
  • Safe driving record: No serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years or DWI/DUI in last 10 years.
