Job Description:

Job Summary
  • Responsible for researching and developing solutions that will advance the overall strategic objectives of Ground Support Equipment, the department, and the enterprise. Working with a variety of internal and external teams, this position will contribute to the design and delivery of the vision of Southwest's experience objectives through a data and research-driven strategy paired with firsthand engagement with front-line Employees

Responsibilities
  • Lead assessments, influence, and contribute to the Ground Operations roadmap through quantitative and qualitative insights that identify operational gaps and develop solutions that drive Company and Department goals
  • Lead internal and external teams to consolidate different viewpoints, devise a strategy, and develop a plan with tangible milestones and achievements, with extreme emphasis on front-line engagement and prototype development
  • Work with other functional teams in a manner that may allow implementation of short-term solutions while elaborating on long-term, ideal state strategy
  • Display a robust depth of knowledge around Employee roles and responsibilities
  • Drive invention and design of new and innovative solutions that empower frontline Employees and bring clarity to challenging situations within the operation
  • Create and deliver executive-level communications and presentations that distill difficult and complex topics into easily understandable storylines that communicate to Executive leaders while proactively addressing concerns and/or required information
  • Organize and lead research, test, and design sessions using a variety of tools/techniques that allow participants to validate components and define detailed requirements
  • Create and maintain the use of project and product frameworks that maintain an organized and well-communicated plan for blended teams inclusive of operations, commercial, and technology groups along with metrics that monitor performance improvement over time
  • Grow and maintain a strong relationship with partner teams and be seen as a thought leader within the broader Operations space
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
    • Consulting, corporate strategy, technology, product, or service design
    • Meeting and workshop development and management, deck writing, storyboarding, inductive/deductive reasoning, interviewing, issue analysis, data analysis, process design, and change management
    • Technical acumen and expertise with an understanding of designing, building, and prototyping applications/services

Preferred:

  • Experience in Excel Modeling
  • Experience in PowerPoint
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience in Ariba
  • Experience in QuickBase

Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to be or remain stationary in a forward and downward position
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary seated position for under 50% of the time
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary upright position for under 50% of the time
  • Ability to traverse from one location to another (does not include travel to/from work)
Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be willing to work periodic evenings and/or weekends

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $105,550.00 per year to $117,300.00 per

year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
