Job Summary and Responsibilities
Acentra Health is looking for a Systems Analyst - Developer (Mid-Level), PL/SQL (Remote U.S.) to join our growing team. Job Summary:
The role of the Systems Analyst/Developer is to support system design, develop and implement components of the application and program, and maintain and modify applications, programs, or system software. Acentra Health supports a high-volume healthcare data system that is accessed through multiple web portals.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains, adapts, and updates existing systems to meet user requirements and to enhance program efficiency. Research and documents user requirements and system specifications.
- Designs and develops program logic addressing specific programming needs. Translates business requirements and functional specifications into detailed system and program design specifications. Assumes responsibility for program design.
- Modifies and documents new and existing PL/SQL program code to fix defects and to enhance a program's capabilities. Creates/troubleshoots PL/SQL code for the existing applications using Acentra Health selected database tools.
- Prepares lifecycle documentation for newly created and existing database programs including changes that reflect new user requirements and fix defects discovered after the go live.
- Prepares reports on the status, operation, and maintenance of PL/SQL-based system components for use by database administrators, systems designers, other developers, and stakeholders.
- Tests programs, new and existing, to ensure they perform as expected. Helps develop, document, and implement system designs, codes, and testing standards.
- Analyzes proposed changes at a system level and recommends designs and solutions that minimize impact to interfacing systems while maintaining business value.
- Works in coordination with other senior development staff on larger projects, completing gap analysis and analyzing the impact of database-level changes.
- Develops PL/SQL code in accordance with the system design and coding standards with minimal supervision.
- Performs unit testing for the developed code, creates test data and scripts to support testing.
- Participates in code review sessions.
- Possesses an unwavering commitment to customer service and operational excellence.
- Provides customer support in assisting with the presentation of demos to the client (including but not limited to facilitating the presentation and assisting in presenting small components of the demo).
- Responds to all support ticket requests within the time frame outlined in applicable Service Level Agreements.
- Develops and accurately maintains program documentation according to CMS XLC / SDLC template standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.
Work Arrangement: The selected candidate must have a dedicated, private, and secure workspace at home, free from distractions, to ensure productivity and confidentiality, and with reliable internet service. Work Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM OR 9:00 to 6:00 PM Eastern.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in developing and designing database applications using PL/SQL in the Healthcare I/T industry.
- Experience in performing all functions of database programming, using standard design and programming techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Relational Database concepts and experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server.
- Experience working in high-volume data environments, preferably in the healthcare domain.
- Understanding software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).
- Experience using ITIL-based system operations processes.
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently perform a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, fact- and data-oriented, focused on deadlines and closure of issues or problems.
- Demonstrates an understanding of how PL/SQL programs are developed, deployed, and maintained.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of development methodologies, best practices, and procedures, and applies them to projects to ensure that development objectives are achieved.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in anticipating and solving problems, issues, or concerns before they occur or become critical.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to create coded unit tests and troubleshoot performance issues in SQL queries.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, SVN, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages like Java, Python or Perl.
