Overview
BigBear.ai is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Software Test Engineer to take ownership of comprehensive manual testing across all facets of our software solutions. In this critical role, you will ensure the highest quality and reliability of our products, playing a key part in delivering exceptional user experiences.
What you will do
Lead automation testing efforts for both web-based and mobile applications, ensuring seamless user experiences across platforms Diligently track and document all defects using JIRA, driving transparency and continuous improvement Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures to ensure thorough coverage and consistency Execute a mix of manual functional and automated testing, informed by deep analysis of requirements and deployment environments Conduct rigorous regression testing to guarantee the quality and stability of each release Deliver precise functional testing to confirm that new features meet specifications and operate flawlessly Provide hands-on support during software installation and configuration, helping to ensure smooth deployment and user adoption
What you need to have
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related field-or equivalent hands-on experience that demonstrates your technical expertise 5 to 8 years of practical experience in the dynamic field of Automation Testing, bringing deep knowledge and a proactive mindset to quality assurance Eligibility to pass a DHS background check and U.S. citizenship, ensuring compliance with security requirements Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, gather and interpret data, and draw accurate conclusions Proven experience writing clear, comprehensive test plans, test cases, procedures, and automation scripts, including API endpoint testing Meticulous in creating detailed test logs and defect reports, using tools like Jira to communicate findings effectively with product teams Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, enabling you to read and understand backend web code for thorough testing Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), contributing to phases from analysis and design through development, testing, and support Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex test plans and clearly reporting bugs to both developers and stakeholders Experience supporting production incidents from a QA perspective, ensuring quick resolution and minimizing downtime Skilled at developing and maintaining smoke and regression test suites to ensure release quality Expertise in designing and executing functional black-box tests to validate software behavior against requirements
