WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

The American Red Cross is seeking an innovative grant professional to support the grantmaking program for the National Headquarters Disaster Cycle Services Long-Term Recovery (LTR) unit.

This is a term-limited, benefits eligible position expected to last 18 months from date of hire with the opportunity to extend based on business need.

Location: This position is fully remote and eligible for work anywhere within the continental United States.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Conduct reviews of grant applications, agreement documents, and management for compliance with program doctrine and policies.

  • Capture program procedures and policies in written documentation for guidance documents, training, and job tools.

  • Project planning, progress tracking, and coordination for ongoing and unplanned activities for the DCS LTR Grant Program.

  • Provide ongoing training and technical troubleshooting to grant managers for grant project compliance and grant management process.

  • Provide ongoing training and technical troubleshooting for system usage and grant process to grant management staff.

  • Support program lead for grant system transition and implementation, including configuration, testing, training, implementation, and launch support.

  • Supplement creation and formatting of data and talking points for PPT presentations to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Co-ordinate sessions, document decisions, capture action items, and track task progress for grant manager team meetings.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Experience with grant management, technical writing, project management, and data analysis. Strong skills using systems to track and measure program progress and outcomes.

  • Skills and Abilities: Flexibility, adaptability and a positive attitude. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills. Comfort making decisions based on informed judgement and navigating complex situations where definitive guidance may not be available. Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong skills in planning and problem solving. Ability to work independently to manage tasks and to collaborate with teammates to manage programs and projects.Ability to relate well and effectively with diverse groups and individuals. Ability to assessstakeholder andcommunity needsto provide equitable and consistent support.Identifies and resolves problems and/or develops alternative solutions.

  • Other: Proficient with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Ability to utilize a variety of technical systems with ease, including online project management tools.

  • Travel: Travel may be required.

* Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE:

Experience with Red Cross and community-based disaster recovery processes preferred.

The salary range for this position is $74,200-$79,120.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
