If you're energized by working with people, skilled at persuasion and influence, and love the challenge of juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, this is your chance to step into a role where your leadership sets the tone for the entire team.

About the Role

As Service Manager, you will oversee a team of skilled service technicians, manage workflow to meet financial and operational goals, and serve as a trusted point of contact for customers. You'll blend hands-on involvement, people leadership, and operational oversight, ensuring that service delivery exceeds expectations.

You'll create a positive, motivating work environment where people feel valued and inspired to do their best work-while also driving operational excellence and meeting performance targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of six service technicians, setting a positive, motivational tone.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers and internal partners.
  • Serve as the go-to problem solver for escalations and complex service issues.
  • Oversee scheduling, workload distribution, and dispatch to match technician skills with job needs.
  • Partner with sales teams to identify service opportunities and drive customer loyalty.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and on budget.
  • Monitor KPIs such as revenue, margins, technician utilization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain safety compliance and oversee facility and equipment readiness.
Required Qualifications
  • 1+ years of service operations experience, preferably in diesel/marine/generator industries.
  • 1+ years managing technicians or service teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a persuasive and motivating style.
  • Technical knowledge of diesel and gaseous engines, generators, controls, and related systems (or ability to learn quickly).
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and business ERP systems.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary technical training a plus.
  • Familiarity with MTU, CAT, Cummins, Waukesha, Wartsila, EMD, Detroit Diesel, Jenbacher, or similar engines.
