Summary of Position

The Manager Accounting is a critical leadership role within the Finance Department, combining strategic oversight with operational execution. This position is responsible for managing the accounting operations, helping prepare and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, implementing controls to mitigate risk, and supporting the Senior Director in financial strategy and reporting. The role demands a balance between strategic leadership and hands-on involvement in daily accounting activities.



Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

Essential Functions

*Within the accounting department, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, IFRS and regulatory standards.
*Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
*Supervise and participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entry reviews, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
*Assist the Senior Director and CFO in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities, providing strategic insights and analysis to support business decisions.
*Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit.
*Help lead or support the implementation and optimization of financial systems, data environments, and software to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
*Mentor and develop the accounting team, promoting a culture of high performance, accountability, and teamwork.
*Assist in and support treasury functions
*Manage ad hoc financial analyses and projects, as required, to support the Senior Director, the CFO and other executive management.
*Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).

Requirements

*Bachelor Degree in accounting or finance. A Master Degree is a plus.
*10 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in a managerial role overseeing financial reporting, accounting operations, or related functions.
*Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on teaming and developing staff.
*Strong understanding and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
*Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with a strategic mindset.
*Advanced knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
*Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
*Public accounting experience preferred.



Working Conditions:
*This position will work in typical office conditions with extensive time using computer equipment.
*Close attention to detail required.
*Willingness to work in a team-based environment.
*Willingness to travel 10% to and from manufacturing facilities.
*Due to short turnaround times and deadlines, must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including weekends, and holiday work as business needs require.
*May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties.
*This is a full-time, on-site position based Westport in Maryland Heights.
