Description

Sigma Defense is seeking an active member of the U.S. Military to become part of our team as our Tactical Relay Engineering Support. The objective of the internship is non-accompanied operation of one of the Block 2 Tactical Relay (B2TR) systems. Additionally, the candidate may be utilized to contribute to engineering test processes.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of direct DoD/IT experience.
  • CompTIA Sec+ is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with tactical communications equipment (SATCOM, radios, servers, networking) is preferred.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office 365, Sharepoint, VMWare/Proxmox, and Cisco IOS CLI.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.

Training Areas:

  • Satellite earth terminal (VSAT) operation.
  • Full-motion-video (FMV) transport.
  • Sensor data transport.
  • Network engineering/multicasting.
  • Tactical system administration and maintenance.
  • ISO-9001 training as it pertains to the Sigma Defense engineering processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities (not all-inclusive)

  • Work Schedule: M-F 0800-1700.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of the Tactical Relay Kit, gaining hands-on experience with tactical communications equipment.
  • Learn about ISR data integration, video encoding/transcoding, and network/satellite transport while exploring the TRK's capabilities.
  • Assist with system testing, documentation, and potentially contributing to the development of the Stingray Configuration Utility (SCU).
  • Opportunity to investigate the various components of the tactical relay kit to contribute to improving its functionality and overall user experience.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually.
